Frontrunners Spring Sale
Spring Sale in AprilThanks to everyone for coming out to our 3rd Annual Spring Sale! It was hard to believe that it was spring today but runners showed that they will get out in any weather and we had a great turnout for the third year in a row. Mark your calendar for next year as the sale happens the same time every year and lets hope for some sun next time around! Thanks, Mark and Nick.

Sooke River 10k
Race #8 of the Frontrunners Island Race Series took place this morning at the Sooke River 10k. A field of over 350 runners enjoyed a sunny and warm morning along with a rolling hilly 10k course. Overall winner, Ryan Day, of Vancouver showed good form to finish in 31:39 almost 1 minute up on, Nick Walker, who's second place finish in a time of 32:33 was good enough to steal the overall series championship away from teammate, Eric Findlay, by just 2 points! Congratulations to Nick for his first overall win in the Island Series. Top women overall this morning was Melissa Ross of the Oceanside Running Club in a time of 40:11. Marilyn Arsenault of the Island Road Runners was the overall series champion for women.

101 Year Old Running London Marathon!

Buster Martin at the London Marathon

GutBuster 001: Royal Roads Recap

Kelly Guest winning GutBuster 001 at Royal RoadsThe trail running season got underway this past sunday with the first of five races in the 8th Frontrunners GutBuster Trail Running Series presented by The North Face. GutBuster 001 held at Royal Roads University is a deceivingly difficult course with many short steep hills and lots of roots and fallen trees which keep the runners focused. 238 runners took to the trails and challenged themselves to either the 6km short course event or 11km long course event. The weather behaved itself and everyone was treated to a fairly dry course....lets hope for more mud next year!
