CONGRATS TO MARK AND CARE!

A huge congratulations to Mark Nelson and Care Wakely for their 2nd place overall at the 2010 Goretex Transrockies 6-day stage race through the Colorado mountains! After an unfortunate day 1, Mark and Care managed to win Stages 2, 3, 4 and 5 and tie for the win of stage 6. This was a huge accomplishment for the two of them. Each stage was above 8000ft elevation and ranged from 22km to 40km. Also a congrats to the two of them on their recent engagement. Full Results can be found at www.transrockies.com

First Steps/Next Steps Beginner Clinic
The Beginner Running Clinic will introduce new runners to the basics of running through a walk/run program. The group is split into the "first steps" and "next steps" groups with each group catering to a different level of beginner.
This 10 week course will prepare participants for any distance from 5km to 10km and also educate participants on various aspects of the sport from footwear and clothing, injury prevention, sport nutrition, and motivation.
When: Sept 14th - Nov 15th 6:00pm - 7:00pm

 The Victoria International Track Classic takes place Wednesday, July 7th, 2010 at Uvic's Centennial Stadium. National events get underway at 6:00pm and International events start at 7:00pm. Come watch our very own, Julia Tschanz, compete in the Womens 1500m. All info at www.trackclassic.com
